What 1,336 patient questions tell us

We read years of real patient questions. Here is what men want to know before girth enhancement — ranked by how often they asked.

Data: 1,336 questions from real patients — 798 by text message and 538 by phone — across Upsize clinics, September 2025 to August 2026.

Method: We took every inbound patient message and call transcript from the period, kept only the ones containing a question, and grouped them by topic. Counts are questions, not people: one man asking about cost and pain counts in both groups. No patient details are used here and nothing identifies anyone.

Most clinics tell you what they want you to know. We wanted to know what men actually ask when nobody is watching — so we read years of it.

What men ask about, in order

Topic Questions
What it costs 162
How much size I will gain 127
How long it lasts 93
Whether it shows when erect 50
Paying monthly 50
Pain and recovery 49
Safety and whether I am a candidate 26
Doing it with an implant 16

Five things this taught us

Cost is not a late question. It is the first one. Men ask about price before they ask about pain, results, or safety. Clinics that hide pricing behind a consult are answering a different question than the one being asked.

“Will it show when I’m hard?” is the real results question. Men rarely ask for a millimetre figure. They ask whether it will be visible in the moment that matters.

Money worry is specific, not vague. Men ask whether checking financing will hurt their credit score. Several apologised for their credit while asking. That is a person deciding whether to be embarrassed, not a person shopping.

Nobody asked where to park. Not one question in 1,336 was about directions, parking, or which neighbourhoods we serve — the things clinic websites spend the most words on.

The quiet questions matter most. Only two men asked directly about privacy. But men text before they call, ask before they give a name, and check whether we leave voicemails. The behaviour says what the questions do not.

What we changed

We rewrote our pages around these questions in this order, published our price range instead of gating it, and made text the first way to reach us. If you have a question that is not here, text us — it may end up in next year’s version.
