Correcting penis filler done elsewhere

The problems we see most are filler that has moved into the scrotum, the pubic area or the head of the penis; lumps and a gravel-like texture; a lopsided or uneven shaft; a result that is too big and sausage-shaped, or too small to be worth it; and reactions to permanent materials such as liquid silicone or PMMA, which can cause hard nodules and long-running inflammation. Some men simply dislike the result and want a fresh start.

What can be done depends mostly on what was injected, and many men do not know. The doctor works that out at the assessment.

Hyaluronic acid filler is the easiest to correct, because an enzyme called hyaluronidase dissolves it, usually within a day or two. It can be aimed at the problem area alone, so the good part of a result can stay, or used to clear everything for a fresh start. Most of these corrections take one visit, and if you want new filler afterwards it can usually go in two to four weeks later.

Permanent fillers such as silicone and PMMA cannot be dissolved. The usual approach is to smooth the contour by layering hyaluronic acid filler around and over the permanent material, often over two or three sessions a few weeks apart, and it can improve most cases considerably. Some silicone problems cannot be fully reversed and need ongoing care, and some men may need a urologist to remove the filler surgically.

Fat transfer that has gone lumpy or reabsorbed unevenly can also be evened out with hyaluronic acid, usually over two or three sessions.

If your earlier filler simply did not give you enough, nothing may need dissolving at all: more filler, placed evenly, may be all it takes.

The doctor examines you, works out what was used and where it sits, and tells you what can realistically be improved, how many visits it is likely to take, and the price. A straightforward hyaluronic acid correction can sometimes be done the same day. The correction itself is done in the office under a local anesthetic, and a follow-up visit checks the result.

It does not matter where the original procedure was done. Men come to us after treatment abroad too; the only difference is that the paperwork about what was injected is often missing.
