Measuring Your Penis
Is measuring your penis necessary? What benefits are there to learning how to measure your penis? When determining whether or not to have a penis enlargement procedure, it’s important to know where you stand and what your potential gains are. In this article, we discover the proper method to measure your penis length and girth. Once you have gotten your measurements, you can head over to our penis size calculator page to see where you stand and where you could be.
Why Measure Your Penis?
Men have several reasons they may want to perform a penis measurement. These range from pure curiosity to medical reasons. Here are a few:
- Choosing a condom size
- Before major urological surgery (for example, prostatectomy can decrease penis size. So it may be beneficial to know where you stand before undertaking this.)
- Before penis enlargement surgery or penis filler procedures.
- Due to concerns regarding normal penis development.
- Simply determining where you stand compared to others.
What Materials Will You Need?
Required materials are quite basic and can be found in most homes:
- Tape measure (seamstress style is necessary in order to obtain and accurate penis girth measurement.)
- Pencil
Measuring Technique
Measure Penis Girth
- In the flaccid state, choose three specific sections on your penis to measure. We will want to cover the distal, mid and proximal penis shaft. Distal is the part closest to the tip and proximal is the part closest to the base.
- Wrap the tape measure around the distal section. Make sure that the tape measure is at exactly a 90 degree angle to the horizontal shaft. If it is not square with the shaft, you may get an inaccurate girth. Repeat this at the mid shaft and proximal shaft.
- Write the numbers down with a pencil
- Get and maintain an erection. Repeat steps 1-3.
Measure Penis Length
Measuring penis length can be difficult because it requires pulling or stretching the penis maximally while pushing the pubic pad towards the pubic bone and measuring the distance between the pubic bone and the tip of the penis.
An easier way to do this would just be to measure erect length. Erect length typically approximates stretched flaccid length. The technique is as follows:
- Get and maintain an erection
- Take the seamstresses tape measure in one and and locate the base of the penis where the shaft meets the pubic bone.
- With the zero cm mark on the tape measure in your right hand, push until you get the zero cm mark at the pubic bone.
- With your left hand, stretch out the tape measure until you are able to line up a marking with the tip of your penis. This is your penile length.
How to Use your Erect Girth and Length
Head over to our penis calculator page to determine where you stand in relation to your peers and how penis filler could help increase length and girth.
Note that it is impossible to increase erect length. Flaccid length gains of about 3/4 inches are possible and erect and flaccid girth increases are possible.
